Why white? The first ribbon for lung cancer was clear. Obviously, that is not the most practical ribbon color. People eventually realized and started to change the color to a more practical one: White. Some people even made theirs silver or, other shades of grey. In 2015, the most popular version is a white ribbon. In my opinion, the white means purity, simple, or innocence. Many people even claim it is the color of perfection.

The silver ribbon |
The silver ribbon is the symbol for the tides of the ocean and moon. The ebb and flow of them: fluid and mysterious. In addition, it is also seen as calming and pure. My theory is, since lung cancer affects the lungs, there may be some complications with breathing. The silver ribbon may be telling the patient to stay calm and breathe.
